The French Evaluation Test (TEF) is a test of general French which assesses the level of proficiency in French of native and non-native French speakers alike.There are different types of TEF exams. Some are directed at candidates wishing to assess their level of proficiency in French for immigration applications to Canada or Quebec, for French citizenship applications or to go study in France. The Test of Evaluation of French for Canada (TEF Canada) is a test of general French which assesses the level of proficiency in
French of native and non-native French speakers alike.
It is directed specifically at candidates wishing to assess their level of French for immigration to Canada or for a Canadian citizenship
application. The TEF Canada consists of 4 modules to evaluate your level of proficiency in oral and written skills.

The Test of Evaluation of French Adapted for Quebec (TEFaq) is a test which aims to measure the candidates’ level of proficiency in French, in both oral and writing skills.
The TEFaq is recognized by the Quebec Ministry for Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI) for Québec Selection Certificate applications. The TEFaq consists of 4 modules to evaluate the applicants’ linguistic knowledge of French.

The TEF Intégration, Résidence, Nationalité (TEF IRN) is a test recognised by the French Ministry for the Interior and is indispensable for anyone applying to the French State for a resident card or a naturalisation.
It is designed to measure the level of oral/written comprehension and oral/written expression in French.

The French Evaluation Test (Test d'Evaluation du Français - TEF) exam will take place at the Alliance Française of Edmonton:

The TEF is issued by the French Ministry of Education and remains valid for 2 years from the date of taking the test.

Your results will be communicated by email 2 to 3 weeks after the exam. The virtual certificates will be sent directly by Paris CCI to the email address you registered with.
You will take the computer-based parts of the exam in group (Writing, Listening, Reading).
Your oral expression (Speaking) will be scheduled on the same day, between 1:00pm and 4pm.
Once your registration complete, you will receive an email from us a week, at the latest, before your exam, with the instructions and details.
Your registration will be completed once we receive both your form and payment.
You won’t be able to enter the exam if you don’t have the ID you signed up with on the form or if you arrive after the exam
officially began. The exam starts at
10am.
(Note: On the day of the exam, we will take a picture of you to confirm your identity.)

The Alliance française of Edmonton (AFE) is not grading the exam and cannot be held responsible for the results obtained by the candidate. All your answers will be sent to Paris CCI for grading.
By registering and paying for the examination, you agree to our terms and conditions of the TEF examination and you certify that you have read all the necessary documents.

Upon successful submission of the form and payment, you will receive an email from us a week, at the latest, before your exam, with the instructions and details. Option 1: A 3-hour online prep course with one of our certified teacher ($50). This online
course is offered to introduce you to the methodology of oral and written comprehension, and to train you for the written and oral
expression tests. This class is tailored to your specific needs, providing you with tips and tricks to increase your chances of success.
The teacher will guide you through exercises similar to those you will encounter on the exam.
